Beyoncé’s fifth album, surprise-released on iTunes in December, finds the singer hitting a new peak. Working with a large cast of collaborators, she shifts gears to pull off her most explicit and sonically experimental music to date, exploring sounds and ideas at the grittier margins of popular music.
“At the center lies Beyoncé’s practically unfair abilities as a performer—you get the sense that Lady Gaga or Ciara could no sooner pull off the scale or quality of Beyoncé than you or I could pull off a suitable rendition of any of its songs in a karaoke bar.”
- Carrie Battan from Pitchfork on BEYONCÉ.
Lol I actually love “Do What U Want” by Gaga. It’s a shame her fans are so batshit insane that they turn off the casual pop/former Gaga fans away from her and her music. If they were smart, they’d cool the fuck down so more people bought her albums ha. Anyway, solid track I’m digging it Gaga - I hope you don’t pander with ‘ARTPOP’ like you did with ‘Born This Way.’
Let’s see how Gaga fans react.
The thing about Adele is that she is perfect. Her face, her voice, her everything. Confidence is beautiful.
Adele is showing people what true music is. No frill, no thrill. Just a piano and her perfect voice.
